Master Johnson Master Ernie Johnson studied Tae Kwon Do in Korea and Thailand during the Viet Nam War.  He received his 1st Dan in the Song Moo Kwan school of Tae Kwon Do in August of 1971.  Master Johnson continued his training in the United States with several systems until he met Grandmaster Pak.  Starting as a brown belt with Moo Duk Kwon - Tang Soo Do, Master Johnson became Grandmaster Pak's #66 black belt in 1981.  Master Johnson began teaching in 1984 in Switzerland, Florida and moved his school to Mandarin in 1986.  Master Johnson tested for his 7th Dan in July 2006. Master Nathan Master Nathan Alexander (6th Dan) began his martial arts journey in 1984 under the instruction of 7th Dan Master Johnson.  By 1987 he earned his 1st Dan Black Belt at the age of 10.  Once he accomplished his goal of earning a Black Belt, Master Johnson taught taught that your Black Belt is just the beginning and began training him for his future Dan tests with Master's rank as his long term goal.  Master Johnson instilled in him that to become a Master -- one must become a Master of learning and teaching.  In May of 1995, he earned his Master's rank.

Master Aaron Leedy Master Aaron Leedy is a 4th Dan Black Belt.  Master Aaron Leedy is a 4th degree black belt and has been training since 1993. He is currently the program director and can be seen teaching classes Monday through Friday. He is also the captain of Mandarin’s demo team which has won three consecutive championships. Master Leedy is also a member of Team Element, which represents the entire federation in competition. In addition to his martial arts career, Master Leedy has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Florida in psychology. Master Leedy is currently working towards his Master’s degree in General Psychology at UNF. He is also a research assistant with two of the professors on campus and the teaching assistant to the Chair of the Department. In his free time, Master Leedy enjoys working on cars, traveling and working on martial arts tricks.

Master Justin Robbins Master Justin Robbins is a 4th Dan Black Belt.  Justin Robbins has studied Tang So Do since 1984. He received his black belt in 1987 at the age of 10. Justin received his 4th Dan Black Belt (Master’s) Test in July 2009. Justin has been taught through his studies with Master Johnson that anything is possible when disciplined and focused on the goal.

Master Robert Haenszel Master Robert Haenszel is a 4th Dan Black Belt.  Robert is a 4th degree black belt and has been training with Master Johnson for 13 years. Robert attends school at FCCJ and is active in his church, Swiss Cove Community Church where he plays for their football team. Mr. Haenszel is a charter member of our Team Xtreme demo team and was part of the championship effort that brought Pak’s Mandarin the first place trophy the last three years.

Rebekah Dulke Rebekah Dulke is a 3rd Dan Black Belt and has been training for almost 9 years. She plans to graduate from UNF in 2011, then begin her career as an elementary school teacher. She began instructing classes in early 2004 and started teaching the after school program classes in 2007. Miss Dulke is testing for her Master belt in February 2013, and is hoping to continue her training for many years to come.

Christopher Tersak Christopher Tersak is a student at Mandarin High School. He is a straight “A” student in the prestigious A.I.C.E. (ace) program. He has been taking karate at the Pak’s facility in Mandarin since he was 5 years old. He is currently a 3rd Dan and is in training for his Master’s test to be held in 2011. He has been an instructor at the Mandarin school since the age of 12. Christopher is an accomplished pianist with instruction since the age of 4. He has had the opportunity to travel internationally since the age of 11. He has visited Japan, Malaysia, Sweden, France, Italy, Spain and the Faeroe Islands. Christopher is currently enrolled in the Mandarin JROTC program with the hopes of attending the US Naval Academy when he graduates high school. His long-term ambition is to become a Pharmacist. He wishes to continue his karate training forever and to continue to instruct as well. Christopher enjoys first and foremost his karate life as well as many forms of intense physical training. Christopher lives with his parents, who also take classes at Pak’s Karate Mandarin and with his younger brother Nicholas, who is a 2nd Dan.

William Devlin William Devlin began his martial arts career when he was 11 years old..  Karate and Boy Scouts made up much of Will’s youth. He received his 1st Dan Black Belt in 2004 and .  achieved his Eagle Scout Award in 2007. Will is currently a 3rd Dan and plans to take his Master’s .  Promotion exam in 2013..  Will attends University of North Florida and is majoring in business management.. 

Katherine Edwards Katherine Edwards is 16 years old and is home schooled. She plans to graduate, with dual-enrollment college credit, in May 2011. She lives with her mom, dad, brother Kristopher (1st Dan), and sister Kristine. Katherine is a 2nd Dan and will test for her 3rd Dan in August 2010. She works with the Lil’ Ninjas demo team and the after school program. She has been a member of the Championship Demo Team, Team Xtreme, for the past 5 years. Katherine loves to read, draw, write and hang out with her friends. In her free time, she loves to build things and usually helps her dad with the big “around the house” projects. If there are any physical games – such as soccer, football or basketball, Katherine is sure to be involved and right in the midst of the action. Even though she is very competitive, she is a team player and can’t wait to see what the years ahead hold in store.

Kim Hoy Kim Hoy is a promoted instructor at Pak’s Karate academy of Mandarin. She attends Allen D. Nease High School where she is in the IB Program and plans to graduate in 2011. Miss Hoy is a 3rd Dan. Kim runs the Ninja’s demo team. This is our largest performing group and requires a lot of talent and patience. Kim hopes someday to own her own karate school.

Aaron Leedy Tanner Lear is a 3rd Degree black belt at Pak’s Karate in Mandarin. He has been taking Karate since he was 6 years old. He currently works as an Assistant Instructor on Wednesdays at 4:45. He also works at the Champions Club of Julington Creek and at the Vystar Credit Union on Race Track Road. He currently attends Bartram Trail High School and plans to graduate in 2011.
